07 expedition el- intermittent misfire/shudder/power loss

Ok at a loss here only owned the rig for 18 months bought from dealership here. I have had oil changed, sorry I won't do it myself in the snow...changed plugs, coils, tranny flushed and still no idea. My baby only does this when I fill it up or is close to full...thinking vapor canister as I have smelled gas once or twice ... but she will shake like there is no tomorrow..no power..no codes.. it lasts about 1 min any ideas? Am I on the right track of the vapor canister? Should I change purge valve as well? Thank you in advance.

The purge valve is likely leaking, I would change that first. You might have to change the canister only if the purge valve leaked raw fuel into it.

That's not readable, too small.

Are Mousey1432 and Mousssey the same person?

Is the purge valve installed?

Did it solve the original issue?

If I zoom I can see a P0301. Is that what there is to say about Post #4 in this thread?

If it's a misfire, it's probably a coil on plug, P0301 is cylinder one. You can get the Motocraft OEM pretty cheap from RockAuto or even Amazon. I had one acting up towing a trailer in high heat and heavy loads where the check engine light would come on. Before that I'd get an occasional shudder or misfire. After replacing the Coil On Plug, no more problems. I think I've had 2 go out in 13 years/130K miles. I carry a spare with me now.

True, but new parts do fail especially non-OEM parts. When I was looking a Coil On Plugs, the reviews for off-brands were horrible... didn't go that route.

12 degrees of timing at 3300 RPM? That seems way low. It should be in the 30-36 range on most vehicles. When I adjusted it on engines with distributors I wanted all advance in by 3000 RPM - usually 34-36 total timing on a traditional small block Ford the way I ran them.

Granted the Modulars are way different, all computer controlled, no distributor.
