Recon Door sills

i have a 2000 F-250 7.3L super cab auto, and i'd like to buy those recon door sills. But i was wondering what makes them turn on and off? I cut the wire that makes the doors "ding". Would they still work somehow?
thanks

I can't find any install info on the door LED but I can get some info tomorrow for you. I am sure that you can tap into the door somewhere else. Let me know if you need pricing on these.

There is a relay in the fuse box that you can pick from that controls the dome lights. That is how I pulled one of the two signals for the lights under my doors. Either dome light or running light, either one will make them light up.

if you have two fuse boxes it is relay 1 in the cab, if you have just the one under the dash I don't know.

They are nice but way to over priced in my opinion. 200 bucks for some lighted door sills come on.

Just a heads up... do some research on Recon. They have non-existant customer service and "questionable quality" products. My experience with them has been very poor. Hate to see other people get burned. My .02

I have the "line of fire" tailgate led light bar. i've had it a couple years, and no problems whatsoever. ordered it online, and received it in about 3 business days. I haven't ordered anything else from them but would have no hesitation doing so.

They don't come with instructions? I have never seen a reputable company with quality products not include installation instructions.

Well they're kinda vague/generalized and don't tell you exactly which wire to tap in to...

I looked it up on the wiring diagrams and it shows it to be a BLU/BLK wire (Blue with Black stripe) that runs to the dome light, cargo light, and door courtesy lights. Hope this helps. Post some pics after install.
