Anyone know how to remove the factory rubber gear shift **** on a 2007 F-150 with manual transmission? I've twisted that thing as hard as I could and can't budge it and haven't noted any set screws keeping it in place.
Thanks for any help, I'd like to swap out the factory **** with a cool chrome one.

 

No sure if it the same on the F150's, but they are suppose to be glued on.

I have seen some suggest taking an adjustable wrench below the **** and tapping up against the wrench with a hammer..

That is what I was going to try on mine when I find a replacement..
