Hot Litz - wiring

Hi all,

I have a set of the bed roll hot litz (pros pick) in amber to use as UK indicators/turnsignals

Can anyone who's used these explain how they should be wired up? There are 3 wires - Black which it says is ground, then two others which it doesn't tell you anything about (but I'm presuming these are for if you use them as rear light & stoplight in combination?).

I did put a continuity multimeter on the wires and found there is continuity between the 2 other wires, but not from those to the ground wire. I'm now confused as wiring isn't my strong point!!!

I'm using an EZ wiring harness by the way. There is practically no information with the pack!

All help gratefully recieved!
Mark

Mark, If your going to just have the amber for turn indicators wire the black to ground and one of the other wires to you turn signal and just tape the other one off shoud do it for you, Garry

Interesting situation!

I'm not familiar withthe lights, but I have to ask if perhaps there aren't two different sets of lights inside that illuminate - one brighter than the other. OR, with one wire only half the lights illuminate and withthe other, all of them do.

That would make sense because in a regular light socket, you are running two different circuits into the bulb - one is running lights, the second is brake/signal lights.

I might be tempted to get a couple jumper leads and hook one wire to a ground and touch the ophter two to a power supply, and see what happens. I'd be willing to bet one is brighter than the other. If so, use the side that is brighter and as suggested, just tape (or better put a sheilded connector) the end of the other.

One more suggestion. We have a rep from Mar-k that posts here sometimes. They sell a similar kit as well. You might want to give them a call and see if their techs have an answer for you!

This is going to end up being another one of those silly little threads that we keep trying to find to get the colors on these lights to the next guy who buys them.

As always, ask the questions and we can get it ironed out - for this time and the next time (s).

That's why this place is so valuable - as a forum but also as a tech library to go back and reference stuff!
