So how would these wheels fit on my 66?

I've got a 66 stepside shortbed and I'm thinking of getting some nice new wheels. Here's what I've found for a Dodge Ram (same bolt pattern). Just curious of some thoughts and all that of the design and fitment.

They're 18x10 and 4.62" backspace with a hub bore of 78mm. They're Boyd Coddington Dictators and I'm going to run a lower profile tire with them, not planning on a high sidewall. I'm going for more of a mean truck look rather than a factory style look.

I have to say those are pretty sweet rims, I think coddington makes nice rims overall from what i have seen. JMHO From what I understand as long as they are 5.5(139.7mm) you are good to go.

Not a lot of difference compare to the Cragers I run on mine, at least at quick glance. To the experienced eye you can see the difference. Any way, heres what it looks like.

Weill the hub not be too close to the wheel or something? I've noticed most every truck specific wheel I see for the F100 has that big hole in the middle and that big hub cover, including the wheels on my truck now. I haven't taken it off to see how far the hub actually protrudes though. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Matt, those wheels stick out further than your stock. Might want to put them on and see if they clear your fenders.

Well I haven't bought them yet, it's a pricey purchase just to experiment. I know that most stock wheels on older trucks like this kinda sit in the fender pretty deep. I want something that sticks out a bit further, but won't stick out past the fenders and look retarded. I used to be so good with calculating these kinda things back in my Datsun Z days when I was really looking to pick up a set for them, but I've forgotten how to do all those old calculations I used to know

The truck has aftermarket wheels on it right now, but they're the typical kind you'd see on an old truck and not really my cup of tea.

Anyone know if the hubs will work fine with aftermarket wheels like this?

Ok apparently not. Since Ford decided it'd be a great idea to put big *** hubs sticking out like 2 inches past the mounting surface, I won't be able to mount any cool wheels. I'll just be stuck with the ugly wheels I've got right now unless I spend HUGE dollars on some aftarmarket axle/brake swap or something like that >: (

Mike, What size tires are you running with those rims? Also, what width, offset or backspacing are the rims? Thats about the style I've been looking at for my 64.

Barry, I'll have to catch up with the guy again and check. It's a local truck that I caught one day. Beyond the fact the rubber is 17", I don't remember anything.
