STX decal

HI,
I just purchased a 09 STX that I’m very happy with. My only complaint so far is the goofy STX decal slapped on the bed. Will that thing come off with a little heat, or is it a Something I should live with.
Thanks, Tim

Welcome to FTE. I know folks have gotten decals off in the past... I am thinking all it takes is a hair dryer, and some persistance. You might want to search the 04-08, and 97-03 forums for this. I have to imagine the glue hasn't changed over the years

Good luck!

Congrats on the new STX! I also bought a new STX Super Cab and love it (including the "artsy" decal). Post some pics of truck when you can.

As for the sticker/decal removal issue. I'm posting a link to a thread on another site that discusses this very topic:

Enjoy your new truck!

A hair dryer, and some alcohol for the glue will take it off.

...and if used in too close a proximity, you lose your eyebrows for free

It is a decal and can be removed with an "eraser" used by body shops. Find a local body shop, buy the painter a bottle of what he likes, and get him to remove it either during lunch or at the end of the day.

Tim, welcome to FTE and congrats on the new ride! Post pics soon.

I have to say that as goofy as most of us think the new decals are, they are as radical as the re-design of the whole truck. They work for this model. I'd live with, it's not worth risking a great factory paint job for a silly decal.

Thanks for all the great advice! I think I might leave them on for a little longer, maybe they’ll grow on me. I will try to get some pictures posted this weekend. She is so dirty now I’m embraced to show her off.

Thanks for the feedback. The bug shield is supposed to be a Ford factory accessory and was bought and installed at the dealer before delivery.
