I have an 88 crew cab with a rusted roof. I can't find another junked 88 for a replacement. What year spread would still fit? Would the roof from a van have the same contour?

Are you telling us that just the paint has been removed and the top cannot be repainted?

The years from 1981 to 1997 should work fine. I don't know for a fact that ford had a CrewCab in the '80 model.

I don't want to get under your skin but you mean to tell me that the roof is so rusty you want to replace it??? On a '88??? I have a '85 and I just bought a new front fender, new cab corners, and a new rear wheel well opening, but I am only replacing thes pieced becaust the holes are bigger that a CAN of bondo! I have never seen a roof that had more than a tinny hole or two in it on anything, even on chevys! It would be much easier to just weld the hole in than replace the whole roof. Don't be affrade to use bondo to hide pitts from rust eather, but make sure all the rust is gone before you use it.

What ever you do with it, good luck,
Mark-

Have you priced a new roof panel at the dealer yet? Most roof panels are in the $200 range.

Don't you just love that paint they used during those years? I know mine is literally flaking off....My dad bought a 96 F150 and he asked if the same thing would happen to his....the salesman said it was "experimental" thing then....what a joke....

Depending on where the rust is you could possibly put in a big sunroof.
