Not sure how good wild pig would taste in KS. I used to hunt the hell out of them when I lived in GA and AL. Down there, you just hunted the big oak trees. They love the acorns and like Smoken said, it gets a nice nutty flavor that way.

As for shooting one in KS, the state will NEVER give a civilian permission to shoot one. Husker is right about what the state has done. The only people that are allowed to shoot them are preapproved eradication guys. And they usually do it from a helicopter.

FWIW - You dont want pigs around if you like big game hunting. I have seen what pigs can do and it is absolutely frightening. When the population explodes, they compete with deer for food and the deer herd gets stunted. Shot a gorgeous 8 point my last season in AL. Did it on post so had to check it in where they weigh it. Since they have a cleaning station there and I was only a mile away, I didnt bother field dressing until I checked in. Damn thing only weighed 160 and I hadnt taken any body parts out yet!!!

The deer are small there, no doubt. I haven't hunted on post yet. Seems every time I want to, I have no place to keep any of my guns. But what you really want is the elk tag. Back in PA, the deer get pretty big, but then again you have a wider variety of food for them to eat. Lots of apples, more nuts, meatier grass etc.

I have seen a couple, but from afar, nothing up close. Not to say they aren't outhere, but the mule deer are more common on riley.

Nice, extra fuel is always good! Do you plan on fixing up that bed floor? I wonder if the weight of all that fuel if the floor can handle that... Unless it's all just really bad surface rust..

The tank in the bed is being used instead of the one behind the seat. Bed floor is solid, just surface rust. If it can hold My 200 pound @$$ standing in it, it can handle a full tank of gas

I guess the picture just makes the rust look worse than it is. As long as it holds the weight, then no problems there!

my record is a 168" and my dad has what would have been a state record 184" at the time it was taken, i got a 175" mule deer once but apparently in mule deer terms tha'ts not a giant..... i raced a z71 today probably a mid to early 90's model and it kinda made them mad i guess that as i passed them they were on their rev limiter and i shifted into 4th about their hood lol now i know i shouldn't drive that a way but i do im sorry fellas

Organizing my bookmarks so all the places I'm going to shop for parts and tools are all in one place. This is my second pair of pants this week. Too many holes have been burnt in the pockets to be able to use any of them!
