I rebuilt the cv joint yesterday, it was super easy, but I have a feeling its something I am going to have to add to a regular replacement schedule. Or spend the money on a whole new driveshaft with u joints. All it takes is money...

Replaced a burned out taillight bulb on the CJ and then did my routine check of all the turn signals. To my surprise the front left turn bulb starting working, it hadn't worked since I've owned it and it started working on its own. Hopefully it keeps working, makes me much less nervous in traffic with a fully-functional signaling system!

Justin, I had a similar issue with POJ. In most cases it is probably poor grounding when that happens.

I agree, the ground systems in the any of the CJ's are terrible, especially the older ones like mine. I don't even have a fuse panel, they started putting those in after the 74' models

After the bodywork gets done I"m planning on getting a wiring kit for the whole vehicle but that's still a bit down the road

EZ wiring makes a reasonable kit.

It was a busy Sunday afternoon around our place when it came to vehicle maintenance.

The F150 got its 3k oil change, found out BOTH sway bar end links were broke while I was under there. $16 and 10 minutes later I handles much better again. Unfortunately I also found out why the AC has been weak lately, found AC die all over the AC compressor so it looks like the AC system will most likely be getting an overhaul next spring, can't get away without AC with a newborn on board soon.

The Denali got its 5k synthetic oil change\tire rotation and the CJ got the top end seafoamed. Looks like I was doing the city a favor by fogging the neighborhood when I went for a drive afterwards

Pic of my helper for the day, good thing he gets paid in cheerios because he never even got that 1 bolt loose. At least he did find the right wrench for it all on his own

Terry (My neighbor) made a test run at making a CB mounting bracket for his JK, and then he made the real one that he has on his. He gave me his "test run" one, and last night I welded it up and painted it, then drilled the hole for the antenna and mounted the antenna on it. I think it's going to work out great!

Found the headlight problem yesterday on My '59, bad circuit breaker and dimmer switch. I bypassed them both, and the headlights came on. So I now know what I gotta go buy to fix them.

Last night after all the birthday hoopla, I mounted the antenna and antenna bracket on the JK, now I just need to find a way to properly route the antenna cable and find a place to mount the CB.
