Pulled the trans\tcase\clutch assembly from the CJ. Inside of the trans looks good, fluid is milky white again though, even after I changed the fluid about 6 months ago

replaced the front passenger side brake hose on my wife's 86 crown vic and in my 66 f100 i swapped in a new headlight switch to see if it was the cause of my random flickering headlights and voltmeter jumping around but alas that was not the culprit now to look to all my grounds to see if one is not connecting good

Took My '59 for a short test drive to check the electric fuel pump operation, it ran great, but won't idle right with the choke open.I think I need to check the timing, but need to get hold of a light (Auto Stoned and O'Reilly don't loan them)

I'm going to start pulling the trans out this weekend to inspect the flywheel and clutch disk, as it has a bad grabbing or chattering problem when I am shifting into low or reverse

Merry Christmas! Santa was good to me, left me a 1" body lift and Holley carb rebuild kit. He knows me so well

Got the tcase\trans\bellhousing all separated on the workbench, time to start degreasing. A rebuild and repaint will be soon after I hope!

Santa must have known.. He left me 5 lbs heavier...

Is it possible a gasket or seal broke loose on your trans? Seems to me like the only way water could get in there and make it all milky colored.

The previous owner used it for offroading so I know that is how it originally got water in there. Changed it last summer with the fluid and turned milky white again without me taking it offroad, or even driving in rain. All the seals looked good when I tore it down, not any fresh fluid to be found on the outside. Going to clean the inside and outside of the cases up really good and stick them back in with good fluid. If it turns white again I don't know what to blame, lol

Figured I'd share it with you guys even if it's not for my Ford ! Picked up a smoking deal on Amazon for a set of bumpers and side-steps, cheapest price elsewhere online for the set was around $600 and I picked them up for $140 w\tax and 2-day shipping!

Threw on the front bumper when I was home for lunch and I have to say that it looks much better than the stock one that I bent up

Pretty excited, one less expensive item to worry about purchasing down the road

Drove My '59 on Christmas eve, to see how the electric pump would work, it does run great, but still won't idle with choke open. I guess I need to make a few adjustments
Pulled the trans today, to prepare for clutch/flywheel inspection. Hope to have it back together soon
