Got the new water pump installed and the parts back together, but still need to finish the coolant flush and and new antifreeze and water. Ran out of daylight and energy.

you just needed some mechanic juice to pep you up lol....... yesterday i put new valve cover gaskets on both my wife's 86 crown vic and my 66 and i think i found my miss i either have a collapsed lifter on #5 (valve closest to the front of motor) or maybe a cam lobe is wiping out it only has about 1/3 the movement the others do.... but even with that i am still maintaining a 16 mpg average but i do notice if i drive any slower than 65 i am actually loosing mileage the butter zone seems to be 72-75 (2250-2350 RPM) and if i stay in that range i don"t foul my problem plug as often(#6) i think it might be the lifter collapsed just from my drop in fuel mileage and motor noise it might be from that RPM allows that lifter to get pumped up good enough to allow full range of motion..... what do you guys think?

Finished the coolant flush this morning and buttoned everything back together and drove to work. I don't think I have any leaks yet! A medium job turned into a big job. I think we're ready to go Chad.

Backed My '59 out of My garage, checking to see how it would run,and move. Moved and runs good, just a hesitatin when pressing on the gas, and generator light stays on. Otherwise, am pleased with it
