1973 F100 factory air

Hey guys 30 years ago my f100 was stolen . They stripped it and yanked the entire engine. The truck was found in downtown memphis. Just a shell. We brought her home and put it back together. But the engine we replaced it with had no A/C parts. I was young didnt mind the heat. Im old now. Whats my options to putting air back on this truck? I like the factory look. But I am not completely oppossed to an add on. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Are any of the AC parts remaining? Blower, evaporator, controls? If those are all still there you'll just need to get a new condenser, drier, and compressor. If you want to keep it original, I see York compressors on ebay all the time, you'll need to get the complete bracket though which can be a little harder to find. Vintage Air sells a nice aftermarket bracket for a sanden style compressor, which would be my recommendation if you are not looking for a factory look.

Check the classified ads on this site. Some people specialize in dentsides. Usually better off to get the entire front engine drive system that is a matched set rather than face belt alignment problems. The factory matches under/over drive ratios of water pump/alternator/PS and AC compressor to crankshaft speed. The factory knew what they were doing and needed to keep customers happy.

I have the factory compressor, condenser and stuff from my 77 F250 V8... I am not putting it back together, not taking the evaporator out of the dash, but most everything else is up for grabs for shipping costs.. not sure how much it would be since the compressor is heavy and the other stuff bulky...

Are you sure it's factory installed A/C, because there was also two different types of dealer installed A/C

Factory installed integral A/C is combined with the heater, the A/C controls are located in the same dash mounted panel as the heater controls.

HUGE A/C evaporator case located at the right (passenger side) rear corner of the engine compartment.

Yes. Its got that big old ugly box on the firewall. I found a similiar truck in the salvage yard. With a complete engine all correct brackets intact. But I have a 302. And this engine was larger. Didnt know if the brackets would work or I would have taken them.
