ok i have a 89 f150 with manual hubs i need to get the the nut that is inside the hub the try and tighten the rotor. i got the hub out their are to mor things witch look like gears but they only hace 4 to 6 teeth on them i can see the bearing. how do i take the gears off it looks like their is a lock ring between them, and in the front gear it looks like their is a ring in the center it has a notch for a small screw driver to fit into i tryed prying it but no luck. can someone help me i need to get the truck up and running i'm a firefighter and we use my truck as a woods rescuse truck thanks

There will be a wire clip around the outside perimiter of the of hub gear, and a C-clip around the drive axle, remove both of these and the hub gears will slide out. Then you need a special socket to remove the hub bearing retainer nuts, there are 2 nuts seperated by locking ring that prevents them from backing off. This socket is usually available to rent/borrow at auto parts stores.
