Good Muff For The Inline 6?

I've heard a couple vids on youtube of a 40 series flowmaster on a 300 with tail pipes ran straight back. It sounded like a V8, but only because it was so quiet. Why don't you try that? Make sure to run the tailpipes straight back. I put a flowmaster 40 on mine (dumped under cab) with cats. My 4,000 lb Truck sounded like a little Honda.
The 300 is just a weird sounding beast. It's big but sounds like a 4-popper. Just put a leaker in front of your cats and call it done. I honestly think that's the best thing you can do.
You know what hurts? My neighbor with a 4.2L V6 had his muffler replaced with a short glass pack. He used the stock tailpipe and put an echo tip on it. And you know what? It sounds good. I had him rev it for me and I just heard him drive past the other day. It rumbles like a V8. It doesn't sound like a V8 but it has a real nice tone to it and it rumbles, like I said.

i was lookin at flowmasters there are like 5 different 40 series lol
but yeah i know someone who has the same engine and it sounds amazing even the guy that lives across the street has a dodge magnum v6 and he has exhaust on it and it sounds like a quiet v8
and on the other hand soo many people i know have the cummins and they all have stacks and yeah i loove the sound of that
im considering just cutting the muff out and clamping on a pipe in its place, the one problem...the cops around here are insaine about loud cars, everyone i know with a car like that has gotten pulled over and hit hard
and with the exhaust opened up do you notice any difference with power?

I lost low end power when I took my muffler off.
Your truck won't be very loud with no muffler.
Don't ever compare a V6 to an I6. A V6 sounds much more like a V8 and an I6 sounds much more like a 4-cyl.

Just remove your muffler and see what you think.

ok yeah one problem.... i ran the idea past my dad and who could have guessed he flipped
so if i just took the stock exhaust and threw on a 40 series would that give me a more agressive tone?
i kinda like the sound of the stock dodge trucks exhaust, the hemi espically, its got a rumble and a nice tone (and i know i hate dodges) but would it give me somethin like that in the sound area?

I think I already told you if you just replace the factory muffler with a 40 series flowmaster it will sound just like a little Honda.
Aren't you 20? Just cut off your muffler for cryin' out loud. If you don't like it, put a magnaflow muffler in place of it.

I assumed you were looking for a muscle car tone to match your truck. You can't really pull that from your truck. I have heard YouTube clips of 300's that sounded like V8's, but they were quiet. If you can't do anything with your cats I would suggest a quiet muffler with full length tail pipes and big echo tips. At least you can have a cool looking exhaust set up to compliment the quiet growl.
