I have an '03 F250 Crewcab with factory Ford stainless tube steps/nerf bars. I was looking for a calf last week and must have caught a tiling trench mound with the passenger side. I heard a clunk as it fell off.

It looks like they are mounted to the brackets with a big nutzert. Is there a way to put replacement nutzerts into the holes in the bar, or do I have to find a new one to replace it. My wife is vertically challenged and our car seat is on the passenger's side.

This may be a good time to try an locate a pair of either new take offs from someones truck or maybe just use an aftermarket replacement. Ford is very proud dollar wise when it comes to selling replacement running boards. I bought the ford flat style running boards for my F-250 new off of Ebay for $80 for the pair, brand new in the box.
As a whole, the process of removal and install of running boards is a simple thing to do.

 

I tried E-bay and searching for a used one online, but didn't see any of the Ford tubes. I wanted to try and find an OEM so I wouldn't have to take all of the mounts off and have open holes to fill before mounting an aftermarket set. I'm going to check bodyshops today.

I HATE the nerfs bars on our 05 Ex and would much rather have the flat running boards that came on the 02 and 03 Ex's I had...

 

I have a used set I took off my 06" f350 CC shortbed. They would probably work 80$. Like mentioned above shipping price would be steep.
