'51 Ford F6 COE Wrecker

I just got my old '51 COE roadworthy. It's a blast to drive.

That s a cool truck. It would be even cooler with the 6V-53 powering it!!!

Nice truck. When do we get the videos of you towing home another one with it?

Thanks, the 6V-53 would be fun, no where to it though.

At least as of right now, I don't plan to use it as a "for hire" wrecker. I might move some of my other junk around with it though. I didn't register or insure it as a tow truck and Texas doesn't have a sense of humor about that type of thing these days. I have the sling for it though, but the rubber has seen better days.

Anybody know where to buy the rubber strips for the sling?

Let your fingers do the walking in the yellow pages. Try either a mining supply company or a rubber and gasket supply company, any place that might handle large conveyor belts. You could probably get some left over material for free if you talked to the shop guys right.

Maybe do an internet search for companies that supply tow bodies and accesories. You can buy bul material from McMaster-Carr;

Sweet truck! I've been looking for one like that for years with little luck. Great job!

Thanks '48 for posting the picture. That's a cool little COE pick-em-up you got there.

Thanks, I'll check with McMaster-Carr, I think we have an account with them.

Thanks Lonestar, how are things in the Bryan? I occasionally buy parts off of Brent Mullins down there.
