interchangable part?

Is the Ignition Switch Module (distributor mount) the same on a 1990 460 and an 1987 302?

That would be the TFI module and yes I believe it is the same.

you can do an interchange lookup on motorcraft.com to find out for sure.

What the heck is an "octane rod"?? I saw it mentioned in my Ford FSM--but no explanation of what it does. I assume that it limits the total ignition advance . Is my guess anywhere close to accurate?
