aftermarket fuel pressure regulators

i have had it with the stock fuel system, i have everything i need to make a nice electric system except the regulator. why wont a gas regulator work for our trucks? i cant see the diesel fuel eating the standard regulator up since the rubber fuel lines are the same from gas to diesel so what is so special about the expensive diesel fuel pressure regulators?

Joe I don't know the difference or if there even is one. I will be using a non-diesel rate regulator if I ever get my system put together. I have nothing but the regulator at this point. I will be using the Aeromotive A1000-6. Its rated for gasoline and alky. Hopefully it will handle bio as well. Many use it without issue for diesel just no warranty

Joe,
I'm with Tim, A1000-6 works great. There are others, all price about the same, can't recall the others though...

I'm guessing the main issue with 'gas' vs' diesel' that you're referring to is probably psi related. You can get cheap regulators for carb and small FI systems that are good for 10 - 20 psi or so. But you need a big one for our trucks, A1000-6 handles up tp 70 psi, our trucks like to be right at 60...

Aeromotive 13109 what I used with a Walbro GSL 392 pump and Stanadyne FM 100, 30 micron primary ,2 micron Cat filter secondary. Ran 3/8" all the way from the primary filter to the heads.
The whole system Works good I got steady pressure at 62 lbs.

Joe that one looks fine but I wonder if its designed for a regulated return system. It list 1 inlet and 3 outlets which would lead me to believe its a regulated supply. I would check into that. maybe I am thinking wrong or they just have it listed weird.

EDIT: Never mind. I read the instruction in the link and it states that its a return regulator. It should be just fine for you Joe.

EDIT again: I read some more. Confused again. It has a inlet from the pump, a bypass return to fuel tank and a couple ports out to injectors (fuel rail) So this is really a supply regulator designed for a dead headed fuel system not a regulated return. Might work might not. I don't know.....It would certainly have to be plumbed a little differently that the automotive.

The reason I went with the Aeromotive is because it been done before. I don't like to buy things twice cause I decided to experiment. I only do that if I think my way is better. If I am right its good, if I am wrong is a learning experience.
