camshaft for 5.0 with 1.7 roller rockers with mass air?

This is for my 1995 f150 5.0 4wd mass air. I am looking for a camshaft that is compatible with 1.7 roller rockers. I have read plenty of threads about camshafts for the 5.0 with stock rockers, but not much info for 1.7 rockers. thanks for any info!! I would also like to keep the springs stock if possible

You need to make sure total valve lift doesn't exceed what the springs can handle.. which is a little over 1/2", so the cam needs to have no more than about 0.300" lift at the lobe. Possibilities with 5.0 favorable duration are....

thanks Paul. I have not installed the rockers yet, waiting to make up my mind if I want to change the camshaft as well. Would there be any benefit to not installing the rockers, and just using the stock ones so I can go with a cam with a higher duration of lift?

The stock cam produces 0.422/0.448" lift with 1.6 rockers and 0.448/0.476" with 1.7 rockers. That's a pretty good increase and it will be noticable, but it won't change the powerband at all, peak will still occur at 4000rpm. Swapping the cam gives you the chance to change this, and the 5.0 benefits greatly from a cam that allows it to breath all the way to 5000rpm. The stock springs can handle 0.500" lift no problem, and there's also nothing wrong with using the stock rockers with a bigger cam, my 5.0 runs very smoothly with them. 1.7 rockers are really only for those that don't want to open up the motor, the cam is the flow regulator for the motor and this is where the real gains are to be achieved.

Crane 2031 and change the valvesprings.. ran one of these in my Cobra with a 306 and loved the torque curve, it would move downward a little on a 351 but be nice and flat.

If I had mass air on my 95 I would put one in. .513/.529 lift 218/220 duration on a 112 split. The exhaust lobe is a skewed E cam lobe.. the cam is designed as a blower cam so has very little overlap and very good drivability.
