Will the 18 inch factory wheels off a 2005 F 250 fit on a 2001 F250 PSD Crew cab??

F-150 = 6 lugs

F-250/350 = 8 lugs



you can probably get a wheel adapter and make them fit...but I'm fairly certain the F-150 rims aren't weight rated for a Superduty

 

I thought they were both 8 lug Both are F250. Or are you saying the Harley Davidson wheels were only on F150's

 

yes they will they will fit but you may need a spacer for the proper backspacing...you should move this down to the superduty forum they will be able to tell you the exact spacers you will need...i dont think tylus realizes your asking about the superduty harley rims being put on another super duty

 

The 04 harley superduty 18" wheels will fit the 99-04 superdutys. However the lug nut threads changed pitch around 03-04 so when you put them on an older truck such as your 01 you need to use ford lightning lug nuts. Been there done that on my 02.

The 05 and up superdutys changed front suspension from leafs to coils, and wheel backspacing changed at the same time. Putting an 05 up superduty wheel on a 99-04 truck spaces the wheels in to far and does not work without spacers. And spacers are not the recommended solution. The solution is to simply get wheels which fit your vehicle correctly. 04 harley superduty and the newer issued ford motorsports wheel for the 99-04 are a great solution, unless you want an aftermarket wheel.

But if you were to use spacers, you would want hub centric spacers and not lug centric spacers. The spacers which are hub centric are quite expensive and spacers are not recommended for daily street use . Yes people do use them but I personally would not. Spacers can come loose, and wheel torque is important. Plus we are talking about trucks which can and do haul heavy loads on regular basis. On the basis of safety, I would not recommend wheel spacers for street use. If one ever failed, your wheel could come separated from the vehicle and there are a world of possibilities which could even result in serious personal injury or even death, all over a set of wheels. Just think about a side impact and I could easily see spacers breaking apart and several wheels becoming separated from the vehicle in a crash.

 

what year lightning lugs did you use i picked up 04 harley wheels complete with original lugs for my 02 f250 and the thread on the lugs is different the lugs that came with the wheels are m14x1.5 my truck takes m14x2.0 so far the only ones i 've been able to come up with are the dorman 611-230

 

This is excellent advice. As some who has spent ten years in the tire and wheel business I've seen a lot of very badly damaged vehicles from wheels coming off from incorrect spacers
