I had my truck painted back in 96 of Feb. Well, the hood cowling has a few huge chips of paint in the large spots near the vents, and a piece of paint that came off. It looks crappy.

I had a client who had an f-250 or 350, that had a chrome cowling. I was wondering if any of you have ever done this. I'd like to get away from painting the truck again. Considering back then, I had my truck painted for DIRT cheap, I'm not ready for it to be painted yet. GRR, I found out the paint shop got busted for something, closed shop for good.
Any ideas?

I think you answered your own question: dirt cheap. Good paint jobs that last long aren't cheap. An additives need to be added to the paint for it to be installed on fiberglass, plastic, rubber or any other highly flexible piece.

You could just have the cowl painted. Shouldn't cost that much. But ken is right, you get what you pay for.

People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
