Bolt Hole Location on 48 f1 Running Boards
I've taken my old rusted running boards and cut out the ribbed section that was rusted out and welded in flat steel. I'm going to weld bolts to the back of the running boards for a smooth look. But I've lost my paper with the hole locations. Can anyone tell me the measurements? I think the running boards are looking good and alot cheaper than buying new ones.
Thanks

Art,
Sounds cool, I hope you've taken some pics.
I looked though the little bit of dimensional info that I have and I can't find anything with the measurements on them. Are your support brackets still attached to the frame? if so you can get your measurements from them.
Either that or drop the boards in place, secure them to the front and rear fenders and then slide under and mark the locations to weld the bolts on from underneath.
Good luck
Bobby

Hi Bobby. I have not taken any pics yet but I will this weekend. Have to get the wife to take them. I don't mess with the camera much. My mounting brackets are still in place but the body is off my frame. My bed is at the shop. Hope to have it done next week if my new crossmember comes in. I'll post pics soon.

Art,
I apologize for not getting to this on Friday, I got busy. Yesterday I fiddled around out in the garage with my tape in hand thinking that there was something I needed to measure but I couldn't figure out what it was. This mornign it hit me......the running boards......dang.
Here's what I come up with;
The inner set of holes are 11 1/2" measured from the outside of the frame.
The outer holes are 15 1/2" measure from the outside of the frame (the holes are 4" apart)
I measured from the front of the running board at the inner set of holes, the distance from the front of the running board to the 1st set of holes is 7 1/8"
the middle set of holes is at 34 1/4" from the front of the board
the last set of holes is at 58 3/8" from the front of the board
the last set of holes is 3 1/2" from the rear of the board
I sure hope that someone else can verify these numbers.
Bobby

Bolt holes
I think Bobbys' pretty much right on; I measured mine and have close to what Bobby came up with.
Because of the curve of the front of the running board it's arbitrary, here's what I came up with, reference to front of running board:
7 716" from front to center of first hole; 34 5/8" to center of middle hole and 58 3/4" to center of back hole.
Center on center front to middle hole : 27 3/16"
Center on center middle to back hole : 24 1/8"
Hope this doesn't confuse.
