Slowly getting back to the truck, and "what do you think??"

Hi all!

It's been a long and cold winter. Finally, the weather is starting to change a bit, and it won't be long before I can get back into the shop.

Seems like years since I've been on the forums. Last year I heated the shop with kerosene, but there's a LOT of condensation doing that, and everything gets soaked, especially my tools. So, I decided that until I had my radiant heat up and working, I wouldn't work in the shop. Needless to say, I didn't get in there at all this winter! But, it's starting to warm up nicely, and it won't be long...

Nice thing about not working on it, I can start with a brand new perspective. Plus, I have been looking and pondering at pictures a lot, trying to decide an end result for my F2. I found this picture, and I like it. The more I look at it, the MORE I like it!! I'm thinking about trying to get the stuff together, to make it into a fire truck. Can you say "parade!"??

Let me know what you think:

Wondering where you've been!!!!

I think that looks cool! I like gadgets and spot lights. It would be neat if you could find the fire extinguisher holder too.

Of course since you've taken the winter off, you'll have that all done before it gets cold again next winter right?

One of life’s pleasures is the sights and sounds of a bygone era. Now you can become a participant and watch the wonderment of a child as you drive by, hitting the siren to arouse their excitement.
<o></o>

Sorry, this was your dream…don’t let anyone rain on your parade.

Hey Roger,

I recognized the picture of the truck as soon as you posted it. The truck was in service here locally. It belonged to the Santa Clara County FD (same county of my residence). I've spent many hours on their website admiring all of the photos of the old fire apparatus.

I've tried to get more info/history about that truck directly from SCCFD, but have had no luck.

The truck is just too cool, my Dad and brother were both firemen(before firefighters were discovered) I told you guys Bob was Da Man--fastest paint job in town--and reasonable too.

looks a lot like the " krylon " specials we put on some of our bomber / stock dirt cars to me . that would lead me to drive the h-ll out of it , slide through corners , and if you are in the way and won't move i'd push ya outta the way !!!!!
