2004 Dodge diesel

Anyone know anything about Dodge's? I've got a 2004 with the 5.9 and no bods and have some pedal response issues.

Truck starts to slow down when warmed up sometimes and we get no response from the pedal. Getting codes P2121 & P2122.

Computer captured data from freeze frame
Calculated Load: 15%
Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure: 38.1 in.hg
Engine RPM: 1451 r/min
Intake Air Temperature: 102 F
Absolute Throttle Position: 0%

Current outside temps in the upper 70's. Tank is about half full with 3 day old fuel. Air & Fuel filters are clean.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any way to test the TPS with a multi-meter? Is there a part that can be replaced, or is it one of those $$$ assemblies? Any idea on the best place to get repair parts?

You should be able to test it by using a digtial voltmeter and test resistance between the wire connector. It is a simple potenitometer. I would expect resistance to go up or down as you turn it.

It may be a dealer item only but last I heard they were to expensive.

Also, I guess this is a Gas 5.9?

It's a Cummins 5.9. I'm getting conflicting reports from the dealers as to where the sensor is located and how much it costs. Prices for the part range from $250 - $550 so far. I'll need to look into this more next week and see if I can get this figured out.

Thanks. I'll try there. The best luck I've had so far has come from a Ford guy who put a Cummins in his truck. Apparently the 04's had 3 possibilities for the location of the sensor. He gave me a pretty good idea of where to check, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I heard somewhere that Dodge trucks actually have a built in delay when pressing down on the pedal. It takes a second or so. I think I saw it on a show.
