I recently purchased a 2004 F-150, and it is having a problem with the stock stereo. The display works, It shows the time, and I can change radio stations, as well as CD tracks, but the stereo will not put out any sound. I checked the mute button, so that is not it. I was thinking it could be a loose connection in the speaker wires, but I haven't taken the stereo out to check yet. I was just wondering if this is a common problem for the 04-08 F150s or if anyone else has ever had this problem, and possibly knows what is causing it?

i would try checking the connections at the back of the stereo
