So I know the VSM is going to fix the problems discussed before(door ajar lights, dome lights, radio stuff like that).
However we still have a power problem somewhere. I finally got the truck to act up on me where I could feel a problem. The other day while driving it, I hit a huge bump and the engine quite for about two seconds. yesterday when I went to start it. . . I turned on the ignition. . . then heard some clicking in the relay fuse box. I tore it open and felt the 303(IDM) Relay clicking. Which would explain why it would start and die, and why the wait to start light never went off. Anyway. . . it did this for about a minute or so before it finally stayed on. So I still thinking bad ground. . . or power to the relay. . I'm pretty sure it was affecting another relay as well. . . but couldn't pinpoint it by the time it started operating normally. So I don't know if anybody has a wiring schematic or not. . . But I need to trace the grounds and power to that relay. Any other ideas?

You can test b+ and key power with the idm relay unplugged. You can also swap that relay. Usually a click relay is low voltage/bad connection. I would test your alternator and batteries as well. Make sure all the connections are good and clean. Also, I think you have a GEM instead of a VSM. I think the VSM was on newer years.

 

Thanks for the linky. The relay is good I know that. . . its definitely a ground or power connection. The schematic will help tremendously thanks. This truck definitely has as VSM. . . I just replaced it.

If you had a problem with the VSM (???) Then you might of had a drain on the battery which could be causing your other problems.

 

The issues with the VSM are totally unrelated to this issue. I just wanted to fix one problem before I tried to diagnose another problem. The IDM relay is clicking when you first power up. . . But something inside the fuse relay box is as well. I'm going to remove it and inspect. . . as well as check all the power and ground wires.
