96 F250 5.8 Intake

Hey guys, Im looking for an air intake for my 96 f250. I have the 5.8 without mass air. All I can find is the k&n that attaches to my stock tubes. I wanted the whole kit, tubes and all. I see they make one for a 95 f150 5.8. Would this fit my truck? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Why?

I suggest you do some reading on these filter here before you remove the stock air filter which actually provides better air filtration than the relatively porus K&N filters(meaning less dirt gets into your motor), and which is also sufficient for the demands of a stock or mildly upgraded motor. If a visual upgrade is what you are after I won't argue your choice, but from a purely performance standpoint the K&N type filters are not all they are cracked up to be.

P.S. The restrictive portion of the stock air intake is the part that goes between the bottom of the airbox and over the top of the rad. This design is unique to the small V8 trucks, the I6 and 460 trucks utilize a different "snorkle" with a larger mouth that goes to a hole beside the radiator, these can be found used and in the scrapyard.

Would that intake fit anyway? The guy at K&N said no, but I wanted to double check with you guys.

Any dual tube intake system will fit your truck since it doesn't have mass air, they were all the same from 1988 to 1997.

Im sorry, i didnt word my question right. I was looking at a K&N intake that was listed to fit a 95 f150 without mass air, which is the dual tube design like mine. I called K&N to ask if it would fit mine and he said no. More than anything, this just brought up the question why not? He said if it did it would have been listed, but I see no difference. Will it actually not fit, or was this guy just saying no because it didnt say it did?

He was saying no because it didn't list that year truck in his documents, and these sales people don't know any better. Most aftermarket products have a cuttoff at 1995 because light trucks went OBD-2 in '96 and a lot of things changed. But light trucks over 8500lb GVWR stayed OBD-1 all the way out to '97, so anything that fits a '95 OBD-1 truck will also fit a later obd-1 truck, there is absolutely nothing different about these trucks except year of manufacture.
