Hey everyone-

I just purchased a 1998 Expedition that used to have a 3rd row seat but it wasn't included in my purchase. I found a 1997 3rd row seat for $150 bucks on craigslist in my area that is matching color. Will this seat fit my 1998? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Also, I was told by previous owner, a friend of mine, that the air ride suspension has a leak? I heard the compressor kick on while driving. Any suggestions or advice? I'm a firefighter and can fix some stuff myself so any advice from those of you that know would be REALLY helpful. This rig was owned by the railroad and has a ton of highway miles but is in incredible shape. It has 278,000 miles. I'd like to do whatever preventative maintenance I can so she'll keep going strong. What should I be thinking about?

The seat should fit, but since the seller of the 3rd row seat is in your area, why not meet up with them and see if it fits. If it does, slap down the $150 and drive away.

If they're nervous about you doing that by thinking you'll drive off with it and not pay them, let them hold your keys.

 

The seat I've found is 2 hours away. Just wanted to make sure it would fit before driving the distance to get it. Did they make any changes to the 3rd seat from 97 to 98? Hopefully it will just snap right in?

Should haven't been any changes in these years. IF I remember correct, there wasn't any changes in the 3rd row until 03.

 

My 01 fit into my now sold 97 so it will work just fine as long as it's a factory seat.

 

I appreciate the responses! I'm going to go pick it up. Anyone care to offer any advice on the air ride suspension or anything else I need to be thinking about with this rig?
