Post drip edge patch panels for a '79

Does anyone know what the drip edge repair panels sold in Motorhavne look like? Is it just the drip rail or does it include part of the roof? Or under the drip rail??

I have a '79 F100 with rot along both drip edges and along both door jambs above and below the door striker. The cab is excellent every where else.

I also have a '78 extended cab that is excellent in all the opposite areas; cab corners and floors are gone but its perfect on the top.

Would it be feasible to cut out the good '78 "door jambs" and drip edges (along with a few inches above and below) and weld into the bad 79 cab? I understand the 78 extended cab would be easier to fix but I'm partial to the 79 reg cab.

Should I just junk these two cabs and get a better cab? What about the patch panels? Any thoughts appreciated.
