ladder bars or not?

i have an 01 f350 7.3psd. with 5'' of lift with 35's when i am pulling a heavy load i can feel my axle wrap up or my springs how ever you want to say it. was thinking of putting ladder bars or traction bars to stop this problem. will it work? or not? or any other ideas to help?

Yes, properly setup set of traction bars will prevent axle wrap.

I also got wrap with heavy trailers, especially when backing them up at slow speeds on uneven ground. I went with a set of One Up Offroad Traction Bars, work great.

2 things to be aware of with traction bars..

first off they decrease ur ground clearance under the truck along the sides, so naturaly u have to be more careful if u offroad..

secondly unless u get a good quality set, they can actually limit wheel travel to..good quality traction bars will still alow the axle to twist.. cheap ones wont be jointed..and will only allow as much axle flex/travel as the traction bars bushings deflect...

hope that helps...

p.s. shop around for traction bars, there are tons of styles... really depends on what u want/can afford..

They were around $800 since I used the bolt on axle bracket. The weld on axle bracket saves you like $200.

Axle bracket:

Frame bracket:

Their bushing mount is what allows them to work without any binding. I've driven one rear tire over snow banks and don't even know that they are there.

Ground clearance isn't of concern for me. Stock height work truck and I don't do any rock crawling with it.

Yeah, he broke two sets that he made himself as well, LOL.

Been running a set of One Up Offroad Traction Blocks for a while now. Few videos of his truck pulling on OUO's site.
