Two-time winner of the “Truck of the year Award”: F100 "Outrageous Fortune"

Hi,
I’ve been the owner of a two-time winner of the “Truck of the year Award” (at the end of the 80s) since one year. The truck is a F100, 1956 model, called “Outrageous Fortune”.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
I’ve tried to get information about the truck from the previous owner (“Haessly”) several times, which has been unsuccessful up to now.<o></o>
Is there someone, who knows something about the truck? For example, I’m looking for the book about the truck. I heard that the truck was utilized in TV-advertisement, but I’m not sure about that. Furthermore I’m interested in the exact years when the award was won.<o></o>
The truck was auctioned in the U.S.A. in the year 1993 and then went to Austria where I bought it one year ago.

I'm thankful for every information!

Talking

Hey dude, WELCOME to the FTE or the Henry Ford Clinic as I call it. Anyway, Steve Hasely was a member of Tri-State F100's (my club) anyway, if you'll email me at trucks1956@yahoo.com I'll put you in touch with Doug Wimberly who's the Pres of the club. He can most likely put you into contact with Steve. He's a GREAT guy!! Very nice!!

Again, welcome here!!

Another "Welcome!"
Sounds like Terry can hook you up with the right person. For the rest of us, we'd love to see some pics of your truck.
Good Luck,

Corvette Welcome,

What I can recall about your truck is it won in
89 and 90'
It has the Chevelle IFS done by Dan Carpenter.
WHat I found interesting now is that it won and it had an underdash style AC unit in it. I thnk it had the Jag style rear end if I recollect. I was looking for some of old truck magazines. If you find anyone with the premier issue of Classic Trucks magazine it is in there. It had like the Cragar spoke wheels in the article and a light colored interior.

Still looking good after all these years. Corvette do you drive it often. I think I read Steve had spent 35K by the time the truck was done in the late 80's. Wierd a truck with underdash AC would win TOTY. Times have changed

Boy, that is a nice truck but I bet you spend a lot of time keeping it clean! It has probably seen alot of trailer miles to be that nice after all these years.

Hi,
I usually spend more time cleaning the underside of the truck than driving it
@tacson: Of course I drive it (out of the garage and back)!

For those who are interessted, I haven't found out much about the truck up to now, but I get the phone number of Steve and I'm going to call him soon!

Greetings from Austria

Corvette-OMG!!! That's beautiful! I'll be redoing my 53 in red this summer. Although it'll never look like that(yours?), at least it gives me something to aim for.
