Stainless Steel Rocker Panels

Just wondering who has the stainless steel rocker panels and how do they like them. I would really like to get a set. Where did you get them from if you have them? Also I was kinda looking to get the stainless wheel well trim. Just dont know if I wana keep my fx4 trim or go with the stainless wheel well trim. Any help would help. Thanks

I've always thought the stainles wheel well trim and rockers looked good, the wheelwell trim i think doesn't look good with the factory flares, tomorrow i'm getting the wheel well trim and chrom door handle covers, then in 2wks times i'll get the wheel well trim, should keep the paint road rash free too with the combo of both on there.

There is a picture of a black truck on here with the stainless rocker panels and fender flares in the topic that is pinned on page 5 i think it is of lets see your truck. Thats where I got the idea to do it. Mine is dark blue and I think it would look pretty good. Put that trim on and the wheel well trim put handle covers on and tint my front windows to match the rears.

ya its illegal here too but they still put it on. They told me as long as its not real dark they shouldnt bother you and the back ones arent real dark so I think I should be fine.

Hey fx4 I didnt catch where you live im concerned with salt getting behind the panels and rusting the doors etc. Does the 3m adhesive cover the entire panel on the back or is there some space for water, salt, dirt to hide? Also there is a clip on youtube that says to use acetone to prep for adhesive this sounds very dangerous on the paint Any install tips?

these are ok & I considered them and also 2-tone gold trim when shopping, but my 17yr old kid told me it was cooler to have a black truck all black, so I went with what was cool just to be cool! Once you try black, ya never go back!!
(& its cheaper to just leave it alone too)

I'm from MN so my truck has seen its fair share of salt. The truck is a 2004 and the chrome panels have been on it since 2005. They came with the truck when I bought it so I guess I'm not much help as far as installation and price. They have held up very well and still look almost like new, besides the small dings from rocks and such but that is what they are there for right.

I dont know about acetone but I would just use some windex or something. Where I work we use this stuff called VHB its made by 3m its probably the same stuff as what they use on this rocker panels cause this VHB is a pain in the *** to get off. Depending on the surface we use laquer, bestine, windex, acetone, or fantastic to clean the surfaces before we apply the tape. We dont like fantastic to much cause it leaves a soapy residue.

I love mine but they use that liquid salt mix on the road here when it snows. After one day of leaving that crap on any of the chrome I get giant brown spots and pits that will only go away with a good chrome polish.
