Starting truck without waiting

so i always wait 15-20 seconds before starting my truck. one morning i got in and without thinking turned the key and the truck fired right up. since then iv been starting it that way and was wondering if thats harmful at all to anything? the coldest that iv started it at without leaving the glow plugs on was 27 degrees.

I don't think that will hurt anything but I am no expert.

You aren't doing any damage as long as she fires up right away. If you have to crank a cold engine, you are injecting fuel that isn't burning and is washing the oil off the cylinders as it runs past the rings into the oil pan. With a cold engine and air temp at 27*, I would use the glow plugs. Others will give their opinions.

Oh, yeah. Welcome to FTE!

Bubba, you are lucky to be able to do that. Like Jim said, most trucks will not start that easy.
