Woohoo! We started our new contract today.

We got the bid to run the recycling center for the town of Wallingford (town I live in)

We are required to:
1: Operate the facility from 8am-4pm Monday-Friday
2: Take in brush and leaves from town residents.
3: Grind the brush
4: Compost the leaves and provide the compost to town residents.

Past that we can do most anything we want to. Take in other materials, sell material, etc.

We've got our trommel screen there now and we'll bring the tub grinder down there as well. They're already permitted for all that stuff so it works out great for us! We're getting paid to use a ready-made site! Can't beat it with a stick.

Thanks! You know, you sound like me. I've been eating small meals as much as I can to try and boost my metabolism. Sounds like you have a super slow metabolism.

Congrats. So you say "we" so I'm assuming you get a percentage of the profit?

We as in the family business. I get $12.50/hr. I'm probably making more that way than I'd make as a % of profit. Plus it's far easier to track.

I also say we since dad consults me on a lot of decisions. I'll probably be running the center on any days I may have off school.

I'm not 100% sure of who is supposed to plow it out in the winter but I'd imagine it's our responsibility as operator of the center so I'll probably end up doing that as well.

whew am i whipped today! i took the day off work and went and played paintball with other guys from work. we played for 4 hours and i burned up 2000 paintballs and would have shot up more but that was 100 bucks worth and i didnt feel like spending anymore on paint. but after further review i am definitely getting my own gun and mask. this place we went to has 9 courses and we played 8 of them. its about 120 acres total and the arenas were sweet! definitely need to get a mask that protect my melon a little better though. i took 3 to the dome and it felt like i got hit by a rock!

on another note with all the exercising talk going on. after paintball i made it home with an hour to spare before my raquetball game witch ended rather quickly since the guy i was playing wasnt too challenging. i didnt hardly work up a sweat so i went to the gym and jumped on the cross trainer for a while and then did some upper body lifting. all in all i burned 910 calories. any of you exercisers wear a heart rate monitor? if youve never tried it its an awesome tool to help you with your workout regimen. i also have spinning (cycling) class in the morning. anyone else a spinner? well i stink and i need to go shower.....

That paintball sounds like a blast. And yes I agree you stink. Go take a shower.

Never wore a heart rate monitor..but I was looking at those little thingies that monitor your HR and calories burned when I was at Shiels the other day. Thought about getting one.

was it the kind you wear around your body and has a watch thing that displays all the stuff? they have those and the kind you wear on your wrist but i like the one with the band you wear around your chest. check out ebay as well. mine was originally 180 and i picked it up brand new for 85 bucks. look into the Polar ones to since alot of the machined in the gym are Polar and the transmitter will communicate with the machine you are on....

Huh. That's hi-tech, redneck. One's I saw just went around your wrist.

Not sure I want anything that goes around my chest. That may cause a bit of a problem.

Enough that I get paid pretty well but not enough that if I don't get paid for my work if it's slow. And if I wanted it I could probably take over the business once dad retired since my brother got a full-time job elsewhere.

Most definitely.

I may be getting another toy out of the deal.We may be getting a CAT 287B or similar MTL to have down at the compost center. I was incorrectly referring to it as the recycling center earlier. That's next driveway over. Or we'll bring the 236B down there and keep the MTL for down the barn.

Either way I may be ending up with some more shiny yellow iron!
