Lisa: If you do get a 6430 for Christmas make sure you back it on the trailer if you aren't 100% sure the door latches will hold.
Dad and I were hauling a 6300 back to the farm from MA and the door flew open and since they're suicide doors the wind caught it and the glass shattered. That was fun to pick up. It was 102 degrees that day. We had to winch the tractor onto the trailer because it had trans. problems, and the truck we were riding in was never equipped with anything but 2-55 A/C.
Good afternoon folks!! I haven't read the last several pages -- been super busy at work. Got some stuff done around the house today, and just finished my P90X workout. I had to miss one due to working until about 10pm the other night, so I'm making them up. It's normally a 6 day per week workout anyway, so after Sunday (the normal rest day), I'll be back in sync.
Lisa --> Are you trying to give poor Jake a stroke?? Good looking girl all over a vintage JD will likely put him over the edge!!!
I'll try to get caught up with what I missed over the last couple days. I'm flying out to San Diego Sunday afternoon, so I get another short weekend.
OTOH, I called Verizon today -- upgraded to 20mbps D/L, 5mbps U/L 'net, multi-room HD-DVR with the Extreme HD Package. Ditching cable finally. The upgrade is only costing me about $20 more per month, plus I get unlimited nation-wide calling & voice mail. I feel pretty good about it. Can't wait to try it out!! They're installing everything Thursday. Oh yeah, and the first month is $30 off and I get $150 cash-back...
I think we are doing the same tonight. St Patty's day and I turn 1 more year older at midnight tonight! Cant really do it with style on a Tuesday!
Happy B-DAY!
Evening all!
Pete,SLOW DOWN you will be old someday.
Lisa,the JD museum looks cool.
Jim,sounds like JL had a great time.
My big sis and brother-n-law and my niece stoped by and stayed awhile.

Hahaha..oh heck...I don't even know what a 6300 costs but that dream is a distant one. IF..and I emphasize IF I ever get a tractor...It'll be an old one that I pick up for a few grand and will probably have to restore.
But that detail about the door latches...that stinks! Stuff like that either happens 1) when its blizzarding or -17 outside or 2) when its hotter than Hades.

The 6300 cost us about 12,500 and another 3,000 to get the trans put back in order.
And to your first comment: A man's got to have his priorities in order you know!
We made the executive decision to pretend we never saw the door come off since most of the glass landed in the breakdown lane. Like I said it was 102ish and it was probably 5 or 10 degrees hotter inside that old R model Mack. 2-55 air conditioning is 2 windows down at 55mph. 55mph because that was how fast that Mack went downhill with a tailwind. We stopped 2 or 3 times for Gatorade and I probably could've dripped enough sweat to fill one of the bottles up again.

LOL,I like to pick on my grils.I would of had to tell them,Yes daddy knows the guy who owns the museum.

LOL.... No wussing out here, Brad!! I was sore for a couple days, but I'm all good now. I was working out pretty hard back a few months, so the soreness was over pretty quick. Highly recommend the program!!

LOL yeah I've been there before. My sister used to have an old FJ-40 Landcruiser. We were out and about one day and ended up getting stick in a huge traffic jam on Interstate 25 in August on one of the hottest days of the year.
My old pickup had no A/C either. lol. First vehicle I've had with A/C in it is the Powerstroke!
