At looking at all these pictures I am going a little nuts. We bought a new trailer from a wholesaler in Michigan and we haven't been able to make the run up and get it yet. I am currently packing the truck today for the trip. I am very anxious to get it.

30%? Really?

I'm good at buying vehicles, but I've only bought one trailer, and I don't remember how much I talked them down, but 30% is the norm?

Wow.

Tom, I just got an idea for the newly revamped tow forum section.

I don't know if that's the "norm", a lot if not most folks pay too much because they don't know any more than what the sales person tells them, just like car & truck buyers. But there is a huge amount of wiggle room on TTs.

That's so true! I got mine for $27,000, blue book on it today is $34,000, and average resale is $29,000..

A friend of mine talked the local RV place down $20,000 on a 31 ft TT.

In my area trailers are about a grand or two off MSRP. That is crazy. This will be the second trailer that I have purchased at a Wholesaler out of Michigan. The first trailer was a much larger 5th wheel. Local dealer would only go to $46,000 on it ($48,000 MSRP). I drove 7 hours 429 miles and bought the same year, same optioned trailer for $30,000. Believing the "Penny saved is a penny earned" quote, I figured at no time in my life will I ever make $16,000 in a 14 hour day. The trailer I am picking up tomorrow is smaller and less expensive therefore "less meat on the bone", but I am still picking it up for $11,000 less MSRP with a 2nd AC and Max Airs added. I will hopefully get some pictures of the new trailer up in the Thursday morning.

Depending on how much free time you have and what a couple of grand is worth to you find a dealer in indiana where most are made at and the $3000 or so dollars they tack on for delivery will be off plus however much you get them off of MSRP. It's probably better to buy local for service reasons but with every thing I have ever read on campers its a crap shoot as to whether or not you get a good one. I've read that the rockwood I bought is fantastic to the biggest POS ever even thought about. I think it all depends on the day it's made or run of materials they buy at the time, I dont know but its insane how many different stories you can get from so many people. I thought cars and trucks had varying reviews but camper reviews are just insane.
