This is a poor picture (thru the glass on a snowy day), towing a 24' enclosed car-hauler. Which, ironically, contains a pile of Excursion parts which were left over from my project.

 

Im almost maxing out my towing capacity. HAHA. I usually pack it about 2,000 pounds and forget that I have it back there.

trailer fully loaded and ready to go... I got the Airlift bags in the rear and are at 60psi.

Is this a good level or what should it be at? Also I've been lookin into the front bags and wanna know what kind of a difference they could make based on ride quality?

The trailer looks a tad nose heavy. Try raising your hitch a notch or two. How big is that trailer?

 

This is the current setup on the hitch that we use. If we raise the ball and stabilizer piece up on the actual drop hitch piece we have a very hard time cranking the trailer tongue high enough(even while using a big 12hx10dx20l big block of wood that we rest it on) to actually connect/disconnect the trailer from the car.



The trailer is only a 18ft model but it is not a one of those ultra light types( specs of the fleetwood gearbox 180fk 2006 Fleetwood GearBox ASV S2 - Travel Trailer | RVWeb.com )

so on top of that weight, then the weight of 50gal fresh, plus 3 bikes, 1 quad, and then all the groceries, sleeping bags etc. darn thing weighs a bunch for how small it is, I'm really trying to convince my parents to start looking into a new one

 

You can always flip the hitch upside down to play with the height. I checked the specs and its similar to the 19' WW I used to have. 4500 dry - wow. I am at 9500 dry now! It was so light, it hardly felt like any trailer at all! With regards to your difficulty in attaching the ball, are the air bags inflated? That will make a difference. Curios - what are you riding? And you're in SoCal too.

 

No we always make sure the airbags are all the way down at 5psi before we connect it just to make sure it's as low as it can go. My dad rides a 01 XR400, I ride a 07 CRF150rb, mom rides a raptor 350 and then we got a little 00 xr70 for a pitbike/little cousins to ride(are usual bikes we go out with), but also have a old 92 yamaha tw200 ds, and a 08 drz400 ds.
