Question flywheel torque #

I am replacing the clutch on my '63 f100, 292, 3 speed manual transmission and need the flywheel to crankshaft and pressure plate to flywheel bolt torque numbers. Can someone help me with this or point me in the right direction to finding these numbers? Also, do the flywheel mounting bolts require a sealant? Thanks for the help!

No sealent. Be careful on theese bolts. They take a lot of a abuse and heat. I think I've snaped a clutch bolt everytime I've put one in. I get them snug and about a 1/8 of a turn is good. With these little bolts you can feel the yeild point whelie torquing.

Thanks, Flipklos. The Clutch pressure plate bolts are indeed a bit on the small side, so I was considering replacing them with new, hardend bolts. Since not everything is perfectly flat, and there will some be conforming to the flywheel surface, I think I will do a trial fit of the pressure plate to the flywheel while I have it off of the vehicle. Thanks for the caution.
Also, it has been a while since I last replaced a clutch; does the flywheel and pressure plate need to be mounted together in a manner which distrubutes the weight evenly, or are these two parts balanced when remanufactured?

Thanks again!

Use a bit of light oil on the threads for the bolts, both flywheel and pressure plate. Lube your pilot bearing with a fingerfull of bearing greese.

You need a clutch alignment tool! The pressure plate sould indicate the side that goes to the flywheel. Use the alignment tool to center the disk and install the pressure plate. The pressure plate sould only go on one way, or is universal then you can install it however.

YOU NEED TO CHECK CLUTCH DISC ALIGNMENT! I f you fail to do this you will get excessive wear, and possibly chatter.

NOTE: If you left the bellhousing on you have to install the entire clutch assembly 1 piece at a time. Its tricky but can be done. Also you usualy cannot bolt a flywheel on with a clutch attached. Hope this helps.
