Leonharu...you said you are trying to figure out what Im talking about...the gas cap on most all of these trucks are stainless steel...some of the trucks in the 70s had painted caps so I wouldnt be surprised if the 61-6 had a few with the painted cap originally...

Look at other members trucks...nearly, if not all have stainless gas caps...of those with the behind the seat tank that is...

76SCS...look in my gallery for my truck...been there for a long long time...

The stainless gas cap (B6TZ9030A) was a FoMoCo service part replacement, sold at the parts counter.

Because of the years (1951/72) the gas cap fits, it was easier to offer the stainless cap, than a primered cap.

With the primered cap, the customer would have to get it painted to match.

Take a look-see at all the factory photos of the 1951/72's in the Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks. How many stainless gas caps do you see?

I don't see any.

Went up to Dads today and borrowed his tractor, we made a loading dock out of snow with his dozer to load the J Deere at his house. Then at my house backed the F600 down into the ditch and tipped the bed to unload.

I guess I've been bitten by the slick bug. Here's my second truck...

I'll have to get some better pics of it outside. It's a mish mash of trucks. It's a 65 F100 sitting on 66 F100 4x4 running gear. The body is alittle rough, but it will be fine for what I'm going to do with it. Plans are to convert it to 3/4 ton 4x4 running gear with disc brakes, power steering and leaf springs up front. It'll have about a 6 inch lift and 37" tall tires.

Chicks dig it

This is the truck my Grandaddy gave me for my 16th birthday. 240, all original absolutely nothing fancy about it....but that's why I like it.

Maybe someone can tell me why my pics are so small.

The reason I try to make money....

My 1965

Okay, I figured it out.....I'm glad I did, considering I am graduating from college in two weeks. If I couldn't figure that out, I might as well just stay in school.

Man, I love this truck.

It's in pretty good shape.

Thanks for the help in the past guys.

I look forward to seeing this post (thread) having a new addition added every now & then; these old slicks are the best.
Not one of the pic's I would turn down as my own ride, there all great trucks

Here is mine as I bought it. 65 short bed. 300 Six.

Now it is a bunch of pieces in my garage and back yard. I want to fix the rust. Hopefully it will be rolling before next fall!

I will soon be dealing with a possible tire clearance issue. I'm starting to see the value of the step side or flare side, you know what I mean. Imagine the tire you can tuck under those huge wells.

Project "Eileen" until I fix the leaf spring problem...

As much as I love this site, I still managed to never post pics of my baby's progress until now. She's a '64 F-250 with a newly built 292 (displacing 309cid) and roughly 700hp on nitrous. See my gallery at http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gall...?albumid=19963 for full details of the build and ENJOY!!!

How much time separates these two pictures?? The truck looks to be almost new in the first picture.
