btw: Henry Ford died in 1947. Dozens of the cars in his funeral parade were new 1947 Lincolns, but 'ol Henry took his last ride in a Packard hearse.
btw, part II: I did not buy the 1936 Lincoln Zephyr brand new...I'm old...but not that old.
Thats a great story. i've got a feeling im going to be like you but in a new generation. I started working for ford when i was 17 at Premier Ford Of Gladstone Oregon. great place, best place i've ever worked by far. beyond good people used to work there. Sadly they closed so i had to take my inturnship for school someplace else. Now Im at Northside Ford still in Oregon. All They do is Ford Trucks so its nice and i like it a lot. i guess i've got a lot of room to grow into the company more and be a junky like you. lol. Im 19 now and still going stron in the industry as a diesel Mechanic.

leonharu...good looking ride...2 lil things you may or may not know are not correct as original...first, the armrest on your left door is a RH armrest...the portion that sticks out furthest is closer to the rear of the door...Secondly, ...the gas cap is originally stainless on all of these trucks...as I recall anyway...I know some earlier and later ones were painted so I wouldnt be surprised if painted was an option of some type on F100 and F250 trucks.

Sorry about that 76SCS,I apologize,I meant cs65.I am still trying to figure out just what the !@#$$%%^^ he is talking about with the gas cap!I know my ride is not original! Thank You,Russell
Something else you could add, though it would prolly be overkill, is an original 'crank up' Alaskan Camper.
Your Airstream is a beauty! I have a friend who has one very similar to yours that was made in 1965, and is totally original.
It was kept under a carport, so the aluminum is like new, as is the rest of it.
You know I believe those "Trailers" didn't change much from like 1930something to like the 1970s.
Coarse this probably isn't true, but I'm not sure.In 1936 They Built the Clipper.
The trailers actually changed quite a bit through the years, it's like anything, when you first get into it you know very little, then you start researching them and your able to pick out the differences. The 50s models had used 13 aluminum panels to make the front and rear curve sections whereas mine only uses 7. I think they kept it that way until '65 or '66, so Bill's friend has one of the last years of the real classic shape IMO. Then they got progressively taller and wider as society did. You'll notice the older it is, the smaller the doorway. Imagine having one kept in a carport, that makes me jealous, I've spent tons of time trying to get that thing to shine, it led a tough life before I got it.
Bill, although I don't have a crank up Alaskan camper, I just got a late 60s slide-in camper complete with turquoise interior that will match the truck now that I have brought it back to it's original color. I'll put up a pic of that when I get the truck done and the camper on. I have a mental illness of collecting anything old. For camping close to home I usually bring an old tin boat with a '47 Elgin outboard, then I bought a whole bunch of old coleman lanterns and stoves I couldn't pass up on. People always get a kick out of all the old junk. I need to build more sheds for all this old stuff that keeps following me home.
modeleh, with the rig of either, or both, must be the topic of conversation where ever you go. Imagine in BC there are vintage Airsteam collectors who have annual gatherings to display their treasures, there are a few in the lower 48. Came across a gathering of antique RV collectors, what an interesting group. Anyhow, great rig, not to mention fishing stream in the backround, sun basking chair, I am with you in spirit, and just give me a good cuban cigar. Oh, next time include pic of fido.
