Hey thanks, yeah, it does help quiet it down in the cab. Another trick to help quiet down the tin sound on the roof is to spray the underside of the roof top with undercoating or any other rubberized spray coating to help absorb the "ping" sound.

I learned that trick when quieting stainless steel sinks to help stop that metal "ping" sound, especially when using a garbage disposal.

Are the lights on the front and rear fenders blinkers?

Nope, PO installed the side marker lights. They seemed to be the rage in the early 70's. I am not sure I like them and I might remove them and patch the holes.

I would be interested in buying them if you take them off.

tooterturtle, great looking truck, really like the color!! Wow, daily driver w/ 390ci and 4 bbl. With my 65 w/ 390 tend to watch the gas gauge like I would the meter on a taxi cab. Now use the 65 w/ 302 and there's a noticible difference. See yu routed the exhaust aft of the rear tire, is this because of under bed spare tire bracket? Intend installing the spare tire bracket under the bed and considering routing the exhaust out the back, just wonder if able to have both.

Those marker lamps are gypo's (gypo: not Gen-U-Ine Ford) and were bought at an auto parts store.

Ford did not offer marker lights until 1968, and they do not resemble these at all!

As stated in my profile and any of my posts.... I am not going for original on my 65 F100 CC shorty. However, I do like the "toolbox" of those long beds/camper specials.

My question is, (NumberDummy) Was this ever avaliable on a short box? I would guess not.
My second question, What would you all think about doing a mod to my shorty to include the said "toolbox"?

Be honest as you all have been with others in the past.

Thanks in advance for ALL of your suggestions and comments.

Mike

Yup, daily driver but I only commute 8 miles round trip to and from the office. Other than that, I drive it for fun short cruise's and I do mean SHORT. Went to Portland from Seattle and back once, took 3 tanks of gas with 4:10 gears.

I routed the exhaust in front to the rear wheels cause I thought it would look good there, no clearence issues. But after living with it that way, I am changing out the rear bumper to chrome contour style and bringing the exhaust straight out the back. Tired of hearing the exhaust when I have the window down. The 50 series Flowmasters sound good but the tips drowned out the nice hollow sound.

As for the marker lights, it looks like they came off a Dodge product or as ND says, aftermarket at a parts store.

Hey Blackwater, if you want them, I'd give em. No sense selling something I was going to toss out.

Guess again!

C4TZ9946100A .. Tool Compartment / Use with 6' Styleside Pickup Box.

Fits: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD.

C4TZ9946100B .. Tool Compartment / Use with 8' Styleside Pickup Box.

Fits: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD.

These tool comparments were available as an option either factory installed, or sold at the parts counter as a kit.

The above are the kit part numbers.

These kits show up on ebay from time to time, but make SURE the length is correct.

Also make sure it's for a 1964/66.

Ford also offered these for 1967/72's and 1973/79's.
