is there a way to get a fender for the driverside rear that doesnt have the spare tire indentation? or would that have to be fabbed up?
They do offer the flareside fenders w/out the indentation. Reassembled the 65 several years ago, notorious for having rust and decay where fender attaches to the step plate. Kinda like the spare side mount but could not find a replacement fender so kept it and hope to repair and install at later date. Anyhow, purchased a set from Ford parts supplier in Ca., disappointed, suspect beer cans are made from same gage metal, don't want to lean on the fender. Suggest first try and locate a used one, IMO, repaired used is better than new; perhaps 61-66 FTE member, or FTE classified. Occasionally see them on ebay. At one point, I set it up to receive daily ebay email alerts when ever an item I was looking for came up for auction, and I narrowed the search field to sellers within a 50 mile radius. Finally, if unable to locate used then suggest call various suppliers, suspect they probably get them from the same source, but I would inquire and go for the thickest gage material.

No right side Flareside fenders with the cut-out listed for any 1957/79, or 1953/56.
The original 1953/56 rear fenders (BAAA-16312-A Right & BAAA-16313-A Left) were later replaced by the 1957 (1957/79) rear fenders.
