Here is one of my truck in camping mode. The canopy I picked up for $40 and painted and added some aluminum trim. The tin boat is an old Sears one I picked up for $100, and have a '47 Elgin outboard for it. I added some removable mud flaps to keep the rocks off the trailer as we do most of our camping in the boondocks up our gravel logging roads. I try not to cringe when I hear rocks flying out of the tires and pelting my painted wheelwells, but like bondomerchant's slick, they are meant to be used and paint can be touched up. I don't like the idea of undercoating as moisture always seems to find its way under it up here in the wet country. The '60 Safari is getting it's yearly polish job one panel at a time as you can see.

Awesome trucks guys, and I mean awesome. This one is my favorite cause it's from BC.
I have spent the last while drooling over all these beauties. My dream is a 66. I had a buddy in high school with a 2wd painted the same as yours only the blue was a few shades darker.
Once again great trucks. Made my evening. Thanks

The sickness started here. Bought as a Saturday hardware store/garage sale/garbage dump truck. Need to get new pics with new interior and added chrome pieces.
Second acquisition. Getting ready for a disc brake upgrade. She goes good, but doesn't whoa!
Bought as parts truck to redo the crew, but it's a driver!
Long Term Project - Need to get a better picture on the ground. Unique crew in that it has a "full" 8' long bed.
Looks like I just need a 61/62 4X4 to complete my collection.

Thank you Modeleh... It's pretty much my ideal truck. 4spd CC trim and so on... The only thing I'd change (if I was going to) is the axle(sic?) ratio from 4:10 to 3:73...just cause unloaded it winds so tight above 60-65~ mph...but I haul a boat (1959 Owens Cabin Cruiser) with it so, what's the point? ..There's an engine at the machinist being built for it...should be fun when I get it in and buttoned up this Fall....if all goes well.
Keep 'em coming Enthusiasts....I know you're out there!
gritsngumbo: You have slickitis as bad as I have the disease for Model As. Nice collection of slicks you have.
th1567: Make sure you post a picture next time you have your Owens behind your slick. I really love the "period" accessories, and also a photo with no modern stuff in the background, like the one you posted. I think a good photo is one that looks like it could have been taken anytime in the 60s or 70s.
Dave: Yes it's the same truck as the brown one, thanks for the compliment. Doing a full color change, inside out and under and a two-tone is tedious and time consuming, at least for me anyway. I still have to color sand and polish it out, and I want to repaint the hood, I'm not happy with it. I'll put on a different hinge as you can see the passenger side one is sprung. I lost my job awhile back so I'm taking it as an opportunity to turn some of my pipe dreams into reality, just gotta do them on the cheap. I'm cleaning up a '67 slide-in camper for the truck right now, it's kind of neat, white with a center band of quilted looking aluminum that I've polished up, it suits the era of our trucks. I'll post a pic in this thread when I get it done, I'll make sure the old hound is in the shot for ya.

I've got a whole series of pics of that truck out in the country and as soon as I get the truck back on the road, (stretched timing chain + no go = new engine) I'll pull the boat out there and get that photo..
