If you look right up at the top of the forum page you will see a button marked Articles/Specs. Move your cursor over this and click on VIN decoder and enter your VIN and you should get some good info.
Anything that is not there just ask on here, plenty of guys with your type of truck. Hope this helps.

Welcome to FTE.
Try the VIN decoder, but if the tag is still on the rear housing, it will tell you what it is. The bottom line on tag will read 3.73 LS or 4.10, whatever. The LS is limited slip.

Well, you can always redneck test it to see if it is open or limited. Jack the rearend up and spin one tire. If the other tire spins the same direction its limited or locked, if the opposite tire spins backwards, then its open.

The only flaw in this plan is that it doesn't take into account a limited rear end that no longer works, thus making it open.

read the tag on the door post and that will tell you everthing you'll ever want to know about that truck. Of course you'll have to decode that aswell.

My door tag was missing. Looked on the rear end tag and it said. 4L10 which I guess is a 4:10 gear with limited slip. Just wanted to add more info of what to look for.
