Now what can i use?

i have a 51 F1 & i bought the front clip
from a 92 aerostar.i thought that it would
work.now i found out that it fits 53-56 & that my
frame is 2 in to narrow. so now what can i use?
i guess that i will have to try & sell the clip or scrap it.
thanks for your help in advance. BOB

A number of us are using the Jaguar XJ-6 or XJ12 in F-1's (as well as in F100's) You will find that the 2 inches naroower is an advantage for using the Jag.. Search this forum on "Jag IFS".

Look at these...

Hi Bob,
Here is a page that lists the articles on front suspension mods for the '48-'60 Ford trucks:

And here is an article specifically aimed toward the Aerostar conversion:

It appears that they have used the Aerostar on your truck also but I can't be sure. I don't know the variable factors that govern your particular situation. However, if I were in the same situation I would be inclined to take a hard look at making the Aerostar front clip work. Unless the tracking width is just too much that can't be corrected by wheel offset, I would try to make it work. I think the issue of the two inch width difference can be addressed and circumvented.

Later Man...
