Attention all Pioneer AVIC F series owners

First let me start out by saying that I have no affiliation with any of this, just passing along information about a great product.

Now, I am a member of AVIC411.com, which if you haven't visited before, if a great info site on all of the Pioneer AVIC line. I ran across a thread on there about knob replacements for the F-series and I took a look at it. These are made by a member there that is a machinist, and they are top quality. I was a little skeptical at first about sending my money to a stranger, but everyone raved about how much they loved their new knob. Here is a link to the thread.......AVIC411.com :: View topic - BLACK KNOBS ARE IN with PICS!!!! His contact info and prices as well as the different styles of knobs he has is in the first post.

Anyhow, I went ahead and bought one. And I must say that it looks awesome. I got the one called black knurled. I was worried about the chrome knob sticking out too much on the interior of my 01, but this black one is very comparable to the knob on my factory radio. I thought that others may have this same feeling, so this is the reason I am passing this along.

Now for the pics..........

Sorry I didn't take a pic of my original knob, I put the new one on before I even installed my F-700. You all know what the original looks like anyways.

Side view:

The install way super easy as the new knob just slips right over the old one. And the fit is very tight so you don't have to worry about it pulling off. I know that these will fit the 700, 900, and the 90. I'm not sure about any other of the Pioneer HU.

I've got one also, the black kurled one. It is 100% easier to use than that crappy little thing Pioneer put on there. Congratulations

Great unit. Had one of them get the reboot problem- sent in back to Pioneer and it's worked great since. I'm still on 2.0 software, but plan to update shortly.

I run video off my iPhone or SD card, and didn't want to pay for MSN access, so the 700 more than fit the bill.

I really like it. I just updated mine with the newest software and it made a big difference. Everything is much faster and of course the maps are newer. I liked it before the update, and I really am happy with it now after the update.

If it's the same as the F-series, the hardware bypass is elegantly simple:

How do you like it? It was probably wise of you to get the newer model, especially with the problems that some of the F-series have been known to have. Mine has been really good except for a couple of little things, like the ipod not connecting sometimes.
