Ford Sync and Ipods
Hi all,
I think the sync/ipod inter-connection is a pretty cool thing! When we first got our Flex, we plugged it in, and it just worked. However, my question to you guys, does a 4th generation ipod nano charge when plugged into the USB jack? What about a second generation itouch?
I've been looking around the web for answers and they are ambiguous.... Help, please!!!
Thanks a bunch,
Archie

So, I finally had a chance to go to the Apple store (Fresno) and pinned somebody down to get some info. Although she was not totally certain, she seemed to believe there was a change in the pins in the latest ipods. Has to do with video coming out of the dock and not the earphone jack. She went into the back and came out with a Scosche passPORT, cost 29.00, but it did the trick.

I finally came up with a definate answer. Upgrade the sync software to 1.2. The tech notes say something about usb enhancements. I went though the steps to do this and once it rebooted, it worked like a charm.
No help from Ford or Apple, but at least now I have the answer. Hope this can help somebody else out before they go through the samething I did.
