There is a swap meet at Lincoln NE on March 8th. I plan on going and may try to meet a few folks from the Nebr. FTE chapter. Anyone else going up. It is a large meet and this is probably the last year for it at the state fair grounds as the fair is moving from Lincoln.

 

How does it compare in size to Wichita swap meet?

 

It is larger with most stuff outside. It is one day only on sunday and gates open at 7:00 am with venders being alllowed in earlier. It is best to be there fairly early in morning because many sellers start packing up around 1:00-2:00 in the afternoon. There are more "average joes" selling, but also auto swap meet venders.

 

I know it is off topic... but where is the fair moving to?

 

The university has made a deal to purchase the fair grounds and the state fair is moving to Grand Island. I don't remember if this last year was the last in Lincoln or if this fall is the last year. The state fair will be at the Fonner Park location in Grand Island and they are building a bunch of new stuff there.

 

Well I might be able to make it. Have to wait till all the bills get paid. Let ya know a little later.

 

You guys should plan on Carlisle in August or All Ford but I not sure when it is.

Was going to be there but had to buy meds for the wife maybe woodlands or lawrence swapmeets i might be able to make them.

 

Met Matt at the swap meet and also hung out with the friends from Lincoln and my brother came down from Fremont. It was cold and damp there today and the crowd and venders was down maybe 15-20%. Also, I think with daylight time change folks slept in. I managed to sell most of my pickup load of excellent quality almost like new parts, tires and stuff. (junk) I didn't get enough to retire yet, but at least a bunch of stuff is gone from the garage and attic. I did make a couple of small purchases, but then had to take the wife out to supper, so there went the profit.
