If you are talking about a Gen 1 Lighnting, Eibach makes a set of front springs that will lower 1.6". Tons of companies make shackles and hangers for the rear. Don't need to buy name brand for the rear, though, they're pretty much all the same. You will want a warranty in the front. If you want to go lower in the front buy new
I beams. I like the belltech ones the best. I have had a few differant ones on my '95. Ended up going 1.6 springs in the front and 2" hangers in the rear. Truck looks good!

If you're talking about Gen 2 - I installed Ford Motorsports lowering kit available from Down's Ford. Comes with front springs & new bump stops & rear shackles. Lowers all four 1-1/4 inches. Mine handles noticably better without any ride issues.

Ford Motorsports makes a lowering kit. Handles better, and costs only $175.

MAK347,

Regards your lowering kit (motorsport), how does this product compare as far as quality to the stock items? Also, did you compare it to the other options available such as: Hotchkis, etc?? Any opinions there?? Quality is number one with me.

I'm thinking about lowering my '02L but would like to maintain the stock stance (with a little rack). Also plan to install the CalTracks. One cool truck .

Thanks

On a Gen1 lightning fyi you cant use an axle flip kit,the leaf spring axle pads on the axle are fully welded and renders the flipkit useless,You have to use spring hangers instead.
