AOD behind a 312ci in F 100

I think I have all the info I need on TV cables for the described hook up.
What I need is info on aftermarket shifter cables and hook ups.
I also am looking for any info you guys can give on brackets (etc.) for hooking up throttle cables and TV cables to a Edelbrock Carb.
By the way I have the original automatic steering column but will soon go with a Flaming River or Ididit column. Am eagerly awaiting any and all info
you guys and gals can offer. Thanks.

Hi Gary,

If you're going to another column....is there anything wrong with yours and you want to sell it?

(is it a 53-56 column?)

Thanks,

Rick

Hey Rick,
Nothing wrong with it but it has been modified a bit to accommodate a Toyota PS box and still shift a Ford O Matic. It will be a while before I get a new column, If you want
it at a later date, I`ll make sure it`s available to you. Might want to PM me with a reminder. Thanks Rick. It`s a 1956.

Thanks,

Well, I want to use it in the F-600 of course and I want to shift an E4OD...

I think I'll have one more position than it will shift but I think it would still work. I just want a column in there that looks for the most part "stock" .......(of course , Ford never put an auto in a 55 F-600 .....minor detail )

I think the E4OD has thr gear detentes in the transmission. If so, a stock column could be modified (on shift plate under steering wheel) with a little filing, to make it work. I`m not an expert on E4OD`s, so I could be wrong about the detentes. Anyway good luck whichever way you go.

Yes,

I believe you're right. It does have detents in the trans. The controller I have also has a provision for electronic shifting. (that ought'a be fun!!)

I also have a 2 speed axle That with the OD should be fun also!

I don't think the E4OD OD is as "tall" as the AOD OD though

Yes I thought it was pretty tall. The E4OD is 0.71

With the 5.83:1 ratio axle I have and the 40" tires I expect about 2100 rpm at 60 mph ... It should run nice, empty down the highway....

By the way......that sure looks like an F-100 in your avatar (definitely NOT a Ford!)......coincidence?
